What is the midnight sun? The midnight sun is a naturally occurring phenomenon in the Arctic and Antarctic Circles where during the height of summer, the sky is never truly dark. The seasonal solstice ushers in this 24 hours of glowing sky from June to September here in Canada, the Yukon  and Northwest Territories being a destination where people visit to experience this peculiar earthly wonder.
