Lab grown gemstones are more commonly recognized in the diamond world, but other types are seen. Beryl composes this gem, and chromium is what gives it the true emerald colour. This stone is man made, and therefore much clearer than natural emeralds. It is also an economical choice for those who enjoy the emerald colour. It has the same hardness and durability as beryl, 7.5 - 8 out of 10.
